It was a soggy Sunday in many parts of southern Manitoba.

A low-pressure system dumped a lot of rain in thunderstorms on Sunday. Manitoba Agriculture is reporting the following rain amounts (25.4 millimetres = 1 inch):

  • Sprague Lake - 57.1 mm
  • Prawda - 45.2 mm
  • Vivian - 35.0 mm
  • Menisino - 33.6 mm
  • Dugald - 25.5 mm
  • St. Labre - 22.6 mm
  • Marchand - 18.0 mm
  • Elma - 16.5 mm
  • St. Adolphe - 15.0 mm
  • Zhoda - 14.0 mm
  • Gardenton - 12.7 mm
  • Stead - 11.7 mm
  • Beausejour - 11.5 mm
  • Lac du Bonnet - 11.4 mm
  • St. Pierre - 7.6 mm
  • Steinbach - 6.2 mm
  • Richer - 5.8 mm
  • Rosa - 4.0 mm
  • Dominion City - 2.9 mm

On Sunday morning, Environment Canada issued a special weather statement, warning residents in the southeast corner of our province that as much as 100 mm could fall. There is no indication that any area of Manitoba received that much rain on Sunday. 

Meanwhile, Environment Canada is calling for a partly cloudy sky on Monday in Steinbach with a 30 per cent chance of rain in the afternoon and evening. The forecast high on Monday is only 19 degrees, which is well below the normal high for this time of year of 24. 

Tuesday should see a return to sunshine with a daytime high of 25 degrees.
