A spring recital showcased students' skill.

Ally Brigley Music Studio hosted its first spring recital at the Strathmore United Church on Friday (June 20).

The studio's students performed a variety of vocal and piano numbers for their family and friends alongside piano accompanist Terrah Harper and drummer Ezra Hubbard.

After the concert, the performers celebrated with snacks and refreshments.

Student Natasha Russell performed a vocal and piano number and has been playing piano for the last year and a half.

"My mom started playing, and I knew I had to take lessons," Russel said about her inspiration to start.

At the recital she sang Ordinary by Alex Warren and performed It's a Small World from Alladin on the piano.

"I do lessons with Ally once a week, and then we have mini concerts," Russell added, planning to continue learning with the studio.

To mark the end of the recital, each student received a gift from Brigley.

Some of the students will perform on Canada Day at Kinsmen Park. The studio is also planning a Christmas recital.
