With Canada Day on a Tuesday this year, many folks in the southeast are taking days off on Monday, making for a four-day long weekend. Canada Day promises to be a busy holiday. Check out our list of weekend events below.

Vita Canada Day - Saturday, June 28th – Sunday, June 29th
Vita Canada Day is taking place this weekend, promising two days packed full of events. Gates open at 8 am on Saturday with baseball tournaments, car shows, and coffee from PERK Coffee Bar. Day one also promises Mud racing, Mounted Shooting, and kid's activities such as face paint and balloon art. Saturday finishes off with fireworks at 10:45 pm. Day two of the event brings a pancake breakfast, parade, strongman competitions, and chainsaw carving. These are only a few of the activities listed for Vita Canada Day. Party à la Parc- Saturday, June 28th
KR Barkman Park will be hosting Party à la Parc this weekend with DJ Jinja. This event will take place from 6 pm - 10 pm and feature family friendly live music. The first 24 people to visit the DJs in the booth will receive prizes. The event is put on to celebrate French heritage and music.
Steinbach Celebrates Canada Day – Tuesday, July 1st
Canada Day at MHV
The Mennonite Heritage Village is hosting Canada Day activities from 9 am – 5 pm on Tuesday. This includes a Canada Day ceremony, a tractor show, horse-drawn wagons, waffles, and more.
Canada Day at the Steinbach Soccer Park
The City of Steinbach is putting on evening celebrations at the soccer park. This will include cupcakes, face painting, music, and bouncy castles. These events take place starting at 5:00 p.m. Fireworks will wrap up the evening at 10:45 pm.

Piney Kite Carnival- Sunday, June 29th
The RM of Piney is hosting a Kite Caravel this weekend at the Piney Curling Rink grounds. This event includes free hotdogs and drinks. Prizes will also be awarded!
South Junction Canada Day- Tuesday, July 1st
Canada Day celebrations will take place from 8:30 pm-midnight at the South Junction Community Club. Piney is celebrating with an evening of music and fireworks. You can also expect a 50/50 draw, a hot dog canteen, and free Canada Day cookies.
