The Rural Municipality (RM) of Ste. Anne has knocked its burn ban down to level one—effectively lifting restrictions.
It says the reduction began at 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, meaning fires adhering to normal bylaw restrictions are permitted.
However, officials warn that east of Highway 302—which includes parts of the RM—remains at level two fire restrictions. This means only only fires in approved firepits are allowed between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Below is a list of fire restriction levels in various municipalities as of posting this article:
- RM of La Broquerie: Level one and level two. This means, for residents living east of Provincial Road 302, only fires in approved firepits are allowed between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.. For those west of the road, fires are allowed in approved receptacles.
- RM of Ste. Anne: No ban.
- RM of Taché: No ban.
- RM of De Salaberry: No ban.
- RM of Stuartburn: Level two. This means fires are only allowed in approved fire receptacles.
- RM of Piney: Complete fire ban.
- RM of Springfield: No ban.
- RM of Hanover: No ban.
- RM of Reynolds: Level two. This means campfires are permitted in approved fire pits between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
- RM of Richot: No ban.
- RM of Emerson-Franklin: No ban.
