A Swift Current man is facing six charges, including assault and break and enter, after incidents in the Chaplin Street East area Tuesday night.

Swift Current Municipal RCMP responded to multiple reports of disturbances at approximately 8:00 PM.

Police say their investigation determined a vehicle struck a utility pole and then the side of a residence.

The impacted building was an apartmentĀ located on the corner of Chaplin Street East and 12th Avenue Northeast.

Police say a male then exited the vehicle, broke into a residence, and assaulted a bystander after leaving the residence.

They had no reports of injuries as a result of these incidents.

Officers arrested 29-year-old Adler Irwin from Swift Current at the scene.

His charges include:

  • one count, break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence, Section 348(1), Criminal Code;
  • one count, assault, Section 266, Criminal Code;
  • one count, operate a conveyance while impaired by alcohol or drug, Section 320.14(1)(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count, operate a conveyance in a manner dangerous to the public, Section 320.13(1), Criminal Code; and
  • two counts, mischief over $5,000, Section 430(3), Criminal Code.

Irwin is scheduled to appear in Swift Current Provincial Court today.

Videos of the incidents have appeared on social media.

The RCMP is asking anyone who has video from the scene to contact them by calling 306-778-4870.
