'Fingers on Fire 3' will be arriving at Strathmore next month.
The event is hosted by Fidgety Digits Fingerboarding, which Strathmore resident Brandon Kehler created several years ago.
"Within a day or two of the last event, we got the ball rolling for this year's event," said Kehler. "Since the last event, I've been networking a lot and working to build the scene in Calgary."
The event will take place at Kinsmen Park on July 26 starting at 11 a.m.. With this being one of two competitions of its kind in Western Canada, Kehler is expecting fingerboarders from across the region to make it out to play.
"The biggest names in the hobby are sponsoring this event," added Kehler. "The community reaction has been really good this year."
'Fingers on Fire 3' will feature homemade fingerboard parks, local vendors, and a free community BBQ sponsored by the Roadhouse.
"Talking with people, a lot of them were excited about it and actually remembered hearing about it last year."
There will also be a competition at the event, with prizes for Best Run, Best Trick, and SKATE. The top three players in each category will receive medals.
Although the event is free to attend, it does cost a fee to partake in the competition.
