Folks from all over the southeast gather at Vita Canada Day for the biggest Canada Day celebration in the southeast.
The event is going all weekend and includes activities such as Manitoba Mounted Shooting, Strong Man competitions, Manitoba Mud Runs, petting zoos, bouncy castles, and so much more.
Board treasurer, Angela Boychuck says that an event like this is planned all year long.
“Some of it is booked already starting in August, like next month, and then we go hard starting January booking things.”
Boychuck notes that this event would not have been possible without the hard work of the volunteers.
“It’s really nice that the community helps volunteer because there's no way that you could put on an event like this by yourself. You need a lot of help.”

The large turnout in the first half of Saturday was encouraging; Boychuck says it’s great to see hard work pay off.
“It’s awesome after you spend all that time doing the work that you get to see everyone come out and that your work paid off.”
The event is far from over as mud race awards are presented, barrel racing takes place, and kids' activities continue into the evening. A second day of activities will be taking place on Sunday.
Boychuck also encourages everyone to see the fireworks happening tonight at 10:45 pm.
Meanwhile in Steinbach Party a la Parc sets up at KR Barkman Park. This event features two DJs. DJ Jinja and Jedimz are bringing french culture to attention from 6 pm -10 pm with music in the park.
