This year, the Canadian Government launched their new Canada Strong Pass – an initiative offering free or discounted access to the country’s top natural and educational attractions.

The pass makes exploring easier and more affordable, for families, youth, and visitors to explore the beautiful attractions of Canada.

From Riding Mountain National Park to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, you can discover the history and beauty of the provinces.

Running until September, the Canada Strong Pass aims to encourage Canadians to connect with their country and each other.

Everyone’s invited

Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Canadian Health and Culture, says this pass is about celebrating Canada.

“Whether it’s visiting a national park they’ve always wanted to see, exploring a museum, or booking a camping trip, families can create lasting memories together,” says Guilbeault.

The Canada Strong Pass makes exploring easier than ever – no physical pass or registration required. Just show up at participating locations and have fun!

What’s included in the Canada Strong Pass?

  • Parks Canada: Free admission to all national historic sites, parks, and marine conservation areas, plus 25 per cent off camping fees.

  • National museums: Free admission for those 17 and under, and 50 per cent off for youth aged 18–24.

  • VIA Rail: Free rail travel for kids (17 and under) travelling with an adult, and 25 per cent off fares for youth 18–24.

  • Participating provincial/territorial museums and galleries: Free entry for children, and half-price admission for young adults.

The pass is open to everyone, including international visitors, and applies to general admission only. Certain experiences, such as guided tours or special events, may not be included.

The Canada Strong Pass doesn’t involve registration or a physical pass, making your trip easier than ever! Simply show up at a participating location, and the discount will be automatically applied.

Connection and celebration

Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Transport and Internal Trade, says transportation is more than a means of getting from one place to another – it's a way to connect Canadians.

“This initiative allows Canadians to travel, connect and celebrate what makes our country so special,” Freeland says.

Let’s choose Canada

This initiative is expected to lift the Canadian tourism sector, while supporting families and youth. Institutions like Parks Canada and VIA Rail play a key role in preserving Canadian heritage and keeping attractions accessible.

‘This summer let’s choose Canada,” says Rechie Valdez, minister of women and gender equality and secretary of state for small business and tourism.

“Rediscover our country, support local businesses and celebrate the communities that make Canada extraordinary,” says Valdez.

More than a pass

The Canada Strong Pass is more than just savings – it's a celebration of Canadian Identity.

“With fewer financial barriers, we hope even more people will have the chance to explore our stunning landscapes, vibrant cities, and rich cultural heritage,” says Anna Gainey, secretary of state for children and youth.

To start your exploration journey, visit the Canada Strong Pass website, or check directly with participating Parks Canada sites, museums, galleries, or VIA Rail for specific details.

The Canada Strong Pass invites us to rediscover the beauty of the land and exciting experiences that unite us all.

It’s a celebration of our shared identity, our diversity, and our spirit that makes Canada strong – today, tomorrow, and all summer long.
