Senior baseball playoffs will be firing up soon as the calendar flips to July. Each of the Fertile Valley (FVBL), North Saskatchewan River (NSRBL), Coteau Hills (CHBL), and Battle River (BRBL) baseball leagues are set to finish up their regular season this week, with postseason positioning still left to figure out.
The Oyen Eagles are first place in the FVBL with a 9-0 record and +81 run differential, coming off a pair of wins Monday in Kindersley against the Klippers and Cubs. With the Eagles locked into first, the Rosetown Angels are second place at 6-3, also coming off a doubleheader sweep last week against the Klippers and Kindersley Raiders.
Behind those teams are the Kindersley Stallions and Kindersley Cubs. The Cubs have a game Wednesday at 7:00 PM against Eatonia for a chance to clinch a playoff spot, making Thursday's game against the Stallions important for seeding implications, but potentially only for third place with the Rosetown Angels also playing Thursday finishing their season against the Kindersley Raiders.
The Raiders are behind the current logjam with a 2-5 record, and tied for last are the each winless Eatonia Wheat Kings and Kindersley Klippers who played back on June 17 and drew even 12-12.

The Coteau Hills League is done their regular season, and Beechy and Dinsmore finished tied for the top spot with records of 5-1-1. Beechy's tie came against the Outlook Riverhawks back on June 23, while Dinsmore tied Eston on June 5.
With an extra regulation loss, the Elrose Aces are in third place at 5-2. They finished with the least runs against in the league with only 38 and beat Riverhurst 13-3 in their last game out.
The U18 Wartime Marlins and Riverhurst Raiders are tied for fourth at 3-4, then Outlook and Eston at 2-4-1 marks another tie for fifth, the Kyle Yellowjackets last with a 1-6 record.

Across the Alberta border, the BRBL is entering the final week of their regular season tonight.
The Macklin Lakers are continuing to lead the way at a perfect 6-0 record, gunning for their third straight league title. After a tight 4-3 win against Czar last time out Macklin hosts Killam tonight at 7:00 to end the regular season.

Lastly, Unity Cardinals are back in action tonight for their final game of the NSRBL regular season.
With an impressive 11-1 record, the Cardinals have held first place all season. They’ll look to keep that momentum going as they host the Oil City Ducks at 6:30 PM from their temporary home field in Wilkie.
Unity still has one rainout game against Mervin to be rescheduled but tonight marks the official end of their regular season slate.

Provincial baseball is also top of mind for many of these teams as the regular season comes to close.
WestCentralOnline will continue to have senior ball coverage throughout the summer.
