Strathmore Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is planning several events this month.
Paint, Connect, Reflect
A Relaxing Night for Moms will be hosted at The Wheatland Society of Arts on Friday (July 11) from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
This event is for mothers who need a night to relax in a comfortable, community setting.
A guided painting session will be featured, along with discussions on mental wellness in a relaxed environment.
Chalk your Walk
FCSS is hosting a community event at Kinsmen Park on July 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Participants can draw and write messages with chalk on the park pathway.
The event will also provide free Freezies, and will have mental health information booths from True North and Kickstand.
Anyone can participate, as no registration is required.
Community Bingo
Community bingo is returning for a second time. The annual event starts on Aug. 1 and goes throughout the month in order to engage youths in the community.
Participants between the ages of 11 to 20 can join by picking up a bingo card from the FCSS office. To complete the card, players need to visit local organizations to collect stickers.
As a reward for achieving a blackout, winners will receive either a free movie pass or a free pool pass.
