Anna Pinesse (Fox) ‘Miss Merry Sunshine’ October 12, 1951 – December 4, 2021 Clan – Loon
Anna Pinesse, a resident of Shoal Lake 39 First Nation passed away on Saturday December 4, 2021 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
She was predeceased by her parents Mary and Norbert Fox, ex-husband Norman Pinesse Sr., her siblings Paul, John, Laura, Dinah, Elmer and Henry Fox, her sons Ronald and Norman D. Pinesse.
She is survived by her siblings Mary Skead, Joe (Catherine) Fox, Sally and Lydia Fox (Paul-deceased), she is also survived by her children Lee Hooper (Donald), Beverly Idman (Jamie), Isabel Pinesse (Conway), twins Alan Harrington and Alana Gammon (Caleb). As well as her grandchildren Victoria Pinesse, Trace Pinesse, Savannah Kejick, Tanika Kejick, Aaliyah Kejick, Raven Kejick-Pinesse, Tanner Idman, Sage Idman, Justin Idman, Jari Idman, Shihan Harrington, Rayna Harrington, Nation Harrington, Sage Harrington, Elissa Gammon, Delaney Powassin, her great grandchildren Tristan Kejick, Allison Penace, Mika Powassin-Skied and many nieces, nephews, cousins too numerous to mention.
Anna was best known for her Bannock (cooking for the community), she loved to travel, read books, do puzzles and play Bingo. She also loved to collect things like movies, Angel’s, Foxes and Loon’s. She spent her time making quilts and loved to cook and cater functions. But most of all she really loved her children and grandchildren, her greatest gifts were her great grandchildren, who she loved and cherished a lot. She was a very strong woman with a big heart, in her own way she showed her love. Her favorite TV shows were NCIS, CSI and Crime mystery shows. She loved men in uniform! Her favorite foods were the # 3 at Hing’s and going to Yesterday’s restaurant.
The family would like to thank the First Responders, Shoal Lake Team, Treaty #3 Police, Christine Mandamin, Tara Penace, Damian Greene, Shirley Outsan, Stephanie Mandamin, Rick Coyne, Kenora EMS, Kenora Hospital, Thunder Bay Regional Hospital and all of the Nurses and Doctors.
Wake service will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 beginning at 11:00 am at the David Kejick School Gymnasium. Cremation will follow.
