The City of Grande Prairie is calling on residents to get involved as volunteers for the upcoming 2025 Special Olympics Alberta Summer Games, taking place July 11–13.
Volunteers are needed in a variety of roles, including:
• Bocce Officials – ensuring fair play and accurate scoring at Legion Field.
• Swim Timekeepers – helping to accurately record event times at the Eastlink Centre.
• Medical Support Volunteers – providing first aid and participant monitoring at venues such as Bonnetts Energy Centre and five outdoor locations.
Training and orientation sessions will be provided in advance for select roles. Volunteers must meet role-specific requirements, including valid First Aid and CPR certification for medical positions.
Shifts are available throughout the Games weekend. Community members are encouraged to apply early and be part of the team supporting this celebration of sport and inclusion.
