Officers with the Luseland Police Service were kept busy in June, assisting with crime scenes, responding to suspicious activity, and supporting the RCMP with multiple investigations, according to the department's monthly report.

Throughout the month, officers responded to two complaints of impaired driving and helped the RCMP issue an immediate roadside suspension in a separate incident. They also responded to two general driving complaints and two parking bylaw complaints.

Luseland police assisted RCMP in securing a crime scene, recovering stolen property, and arresting two individuals, a wanted female and a male, in separate cases.

Officers also attended to a domestic assault and a domestic dispute, and responded to a complaint of uttering threats. One individual received a warning under the Alcohol and Gaming Regulation Act.

Police were called to a mental health-related incident and provided care at the scene of a medical emergency until EMS arrived.

In addition, the service received eight reports of suspicious activity involving people, vehicles or behaviour, and responded to an alarm call and a property check request from a resident.

Luseland officers also investigated a reported break and enter, which was later determined not to be criminal in nature. Two cases of mischief were logged — one under $5,000 and one over — along with two thefts under $5,000.

The department responded to one motor vehicle collision during the month and supported the Canadian Firearms Program on an active file.

Residents are reminded to report emergencies by calling 911. For non-urgent matters or general inquiries, the Luseland Police Service can be reached at 306-372-4844.
