Biz Camp/Camp Entrepreneur was developed and organized with the goal of inspiring 9 to 13 year old, rural youth to see entrepreneurship as a career option. This is accomplished through a camp experience that is focused on education, experience and enjoyment.
Community Futures Triple R
Community Futures is a community-based economic renewal initiative funded by the Government of Canada and directed by local volunteer boards. Their main objectives are to help rural Canadians start or expand a business and to help sustain and improve communities and their local economies.
Manitoba’s 16 Community Futures corporations deliver a variety of services including loans and technical and advisory services for small and medium- sized businesses, services targeted to youth and entrepreneurs with disabilities, and community economic development and planning.
R Biz Camp and Camp Entrepreneur
Educate: Campers aged 9 to 13 are taught about the definition of an entrepreneur, ways to develop a business idea, first impressions, body language, selling skills and attitude. They are taught the basics of cash flow and learn about revenue and expense items. Business plans are the final business concept taught to pull together all the material delivered at the camp.
Experience: Campers develop a concept for a product they can sell. The last day at camp kids have the opportunity to sell their products at a Kid’s Market or a local farmers market.
Enjoy: Kids get to experience being an entrepreneur, but it's also a week with a lot of fun activities!
- Indoor games and outdoor games
