A traffic delay has been reported on Highway 4 just north of Elrose, where a culvert failure is impacting travel in both directions.

According to the Highway Hotline, motorists can expect reduced speeds through the affected area as crews assess the situation. Drivers are being advised to slow down and proceed with caution.

The issue was also raised in a social media post by a local driver, who warned of a dangerous dip in the roadway that damaged her vehicle.

“Just wanted to give a heads up about Hwy 4 if you are coming towards Elrose from Rosetown,” wrote a woman in a post to Facebook. “At 100 km/h last night my car slammed the front bumper into the road and cracked it. The woman noted that the hazard is located roughly 10 minutes north of Elrose, just before the first roadside advertisement vehicle. She added that if the section continues to deteriorate, it could pose a greater risk to motorists.

As of Thursday, no official timeline had been given for repairs.

Motorists travelling the route are urged to check the Highway Hotline for up-to-date road conditions and to
