It was a strong weekend for the U17 AAA Eastman Wildcats who made it to the semi finals at the Peppers classic in Mankato, Minnesota this past weekend.
Having three days of ball against some top level competition, the Wildcats battled hard in each game, pushing themselves and their opponents in all areas of the game.
On July 4th, the Wildcats finished the day going 0-2-1.
The group bounced back on July 5th, winning their opening game against Gamblers Gold 4-3.
A loss in the following game didn't keep the team down, they responded by winning their next contest 2-0 against Valley Sports Academy Guardians.
After the two days of competition, the Wildcats were put into the Silver bracket.
In game one, the quarter finals, the Wildcats blanked the East Ridge Elite 6-0.
The group moved onto the semi's where they went into extra innings, falling just short, losing 6-5.
It was a very strong showing for the team that hopes to find that next level to their game in time for provincials, which go from July 17th-20th in Stonewall.
