Summer has just begun, and for a lot of kids, the next school year will be different.
The former Grade 6 students at Wheatland Elementary are getting ready for their first year of junior high school at the end of the summer.
Hannah Henry, the local teacher of the class, has some words of advice.
"A lot of it is just to be themselves. Make sure they find their people in junior high because it can be a big, scary place," said Henry. "I know it's a little daunting before they get there. We're excited that they're going to be open to more opportunities in their options classes, as well as finding new friends and whatnot."
"Just be yourself. People are going to love you for who you are. We just want them to keep that 'lead, learn, love' motto that we have at Wheatland Elementary School."
The kids are out of school until early September.
