Gleichen RCMP arrested and charged a man following a weapons complaint in the community.

Police responded to a complaint of a man waving a kitchen knife at people on Main Street in Gleichen on Monday (July 7).

The suspect, 35-year-old Teddy Yellowfly of Siksika Nation, faced several charges, including: 

  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.
  • Possession of a weapon while knowing its possession was prohibited.
  • Failing to comply with conditions of a probation order.
  • Failing to comply with conditions of a release order. 

Yellowfly is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Siksika Nation on July 24.
