The Saskatoon Berries won four straight games to start July, including a 22-4 drubbing of the Weyburn Beavers on July 3, but have since cooled down a bit going 2-2 in their last four games.

The Berries lost on Saturday at home 6-4 against the Regina Red Sox but returned the favour on Sunday with a 7-5 win on the road. The team stayed hot Monday as the Berries beat the Moose Jaw Miller Express in walk-off fashion 4-3, but then their modest two game win-streak ended Tuesday night with Moose Jaw turning in a one-run-win of their own 9-8 from Cairns Field.

At 27-5, one more loss for the Berries this month would match their season total prior to July. Any baseball team is capable of hitting a rough patch, but in the Berries case they are still more than blooming, retaining the top spot in Tuesday's WCBL power rankings.

After a day off on Wednesday, Saskatoon will be hitting the road to Weyburn on Thursday for two games against the Beavers at Tom Laing Park. The Berries lost 9-0 to Weyburn in the season opener, but in three matchups since, have outscored the Beavers 47-13.

After that series the Berries will return home for games Saturday and Sunday against the Swift Current 57's. It's always a fun time at the ballpark when the Berries are playing, read a special edition of The Scoop with Coop below after the Berries held their "Bark in the Park" night.
