Blind Creek Trail is in great shape once again, thanks to the dedication of some local good Samaritans.

Ellery Burton, who has been coordinating trail maintenance efforts, says volunteers recently completed repairs to bridges damaged by flooding last fall.

"One of the bridges is completely resurfaced with new boards, and the other one just needed some more minor repairs. So, the trail is back up and running," he says, adding he has already seen a number of people in the area using it.

To help fund the repairs and other potential improvements, a GoFundMe campaign was launched last month.

Burton says fundraising efforts are ongoing, not only to cover current work but also to support future projects in the much-loved area.

That said, donations aren’t just about dollars—time and hands-on help go a long way, too.

"We've only had a few people out with mowers and lawn care equipment, but I know there's lots of people in the community that like to do that. It takes about 45 minutes to cut the grass," he says.

Anyone looking to get involved with maintaining the trail can email Burton at elleryburton9@gmail.com.

"We want to keep the trail open and have it be used," he says. "There's a few more sections of the trail that I think need to some gravel or infill to make them a little bit more smooth... and I think, long term, we want to have that trail connected with the other trail systems in Steinbach."
