The City of Grande Prairie advises residents of a planned road closure on Poplar Drive in South Patterson to complete underground stormwater pipe repairs.
The closure is in effect from 6 a.m. on Monday, July 14 to 10 p.m. on Friday, July 18 (weather depending) to ensure the safety of crews and the public.
Poplar Drive will be closed between 72 Avenue and 76 Avenue during this time. A designated detour is in place via Patterson Drive, with signage guiding drivers through the area. Access is maintained for local traffic only, and a speed limit of 30 km/h applies within the closure zone.
An electronic message board has been placed on Poplar Drive to notify northbound drivers of the upcoming closure.
Transit impacts:
Several stops on Routes 2, 5 and 9 are temporarily affected during the closure. Riders are directed to nearby alternate stops. For a full list of affected stops and instructions, visit cityofgp.com/transit.
Drivers are asked to follow all posted signage and use alternate routes where possible.
