Special Olympics Alberta Summer Games 2025 in Grande Prairie THIS WEEKEND!

The Special Olympics Alberta Summer Games is taking place in the City of Grande Prairie this weekend!

• Nine venues will host the games across the Grande Prairie region, including:
  • Bonnetts Energy Centre – opening ceremonies, closing ceremonies & athletes celebration night
  • Keyera Place (formerly the Activity & Reception Centre) – powerlifting.
  • Bowling Stones – 10-pin bowling.
  • Eastlink Centre – swimming & basketball.
  • Grande Prairie Gymnastics – rhythmic gymnastics.
  • Legion Field – athletics & bocce.
  • Rotary fields – soccer.
  • South bear creek park – softball.
  • The Dunes Golf & Winter Club – 9-hole golf.

Over 1,000 athletes, coaches, families, support people and spectators from across Alberta are coming together for this competition happening once every four years.

Admission to all sporting events and the opening ceremonies is free.
