Another big weekend is ahead for local ball players. Softball Saskatchewan provincials are sending local teams in the U19, U15, and U13 age groups around the province for their final weekend of competition before the end of the year.
The U13 division has the most local teams in play, Elrose, Biggar, Macklin, Unity, Delisle, Kindersley, and Outlook all headed to Rosthern for the U13 'C' North tournament. The Leader Expos are part of the U13 'C' South tournament and will be in Regina as one of 16 teams.
There are also a pair of U15 provincials with local teams in action. The Rosetown Angels are going to U15 'C' in Regina, while Unity is hosting an eleven-team field featuring Kindersley and Macklin for U15 'B' provincials, games beginning at 8:00 AM on Friday and ending with the gold medal game at 3:00 on Sunday.
While their hometown hosts a tournament, the U19 Unity Panthers will be in Regina for U19 'B'. They are one of five teams and start Friday at noon against the Yukon Sundogs.
