Rested up after a bye-week, the 4-0 Saskatchewan Roughriders will be aiming to stay undefeated on the year when they face the 3-1 Calgary Stampeders, fresh off a 37-16 "Stampede Bowl" win last Thursday at home against Winnipeg.
The Roughriders are coming off a lopsided win themselves in their last game back on June 28 against the BC Lions. The 37-18 final was the Riders' third time eclipsing the 30-point mark in four games, and it was without the services of starting quarterback Trevor Harris, who will be back in the lineup tonight.
Also making his return to the lineup is running back Ka'Deem Carey. He will dress for the second time this season and back up AJ Oullette with Thomas Bertrand-Hudon going to the six-game injured list.
Carey signed with the Roughriders after being cut by the Toronto Argonauts, and while he didn't get a chance to play against that former team, Carey should be eager to carry the ball against his former employers from Calgary after Carey spent six seasons with the Stampeders organization.
Another former Stamp eager to take on his former team will be Mike Rose on the defensive line. Rose spent seven seasons with Calgary before being cut January 27, quickly signing in Saskatchewan a few days later on February 1.
While it's not backed up by the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth like Calgary's Stampede Bowl, Friday Night Football does have a theme tonight —The Back 40 Bash: Rooted in the West. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM from Mosaic Stadium in Regina.
