The Oyen Eagles and Rosetown Angels began their Fertile Valley Baseball League championship series back on Sunday in Rosetown.
Travelling into Saskatchewan across Highway 7, the Eagles won 7-6 to take an early series lead. The Angels played well on their home diamond taking a 5-3 lead through the middle innings, but the Eagles offense proved too much as they swooped and took a last inning win.
Game 2 is set for Tuesday night in Oyen at 7:00 PM from Doug Lehman Field. The FVBL trophy will be in attendance but might need to book an extra night if the Angels can extend the series, as a potential Game 3 is set to go Wednesday at 7:00.

The Eagles and the Angels are the only two teams left, but their FVBL counterpart Kindersley Oldtimer Klippers were on the diamond this past weekend too for their annual tournament.
