Saskatchewan basketball showed out bigtime on the courts in Las Vegas last week. Team Sask 15U, led by Unity native Zenon Orobko as head coach, won big in Vegas taking home the championship title for both the "Las Vegas Classic" and "Las Vegas Finale" tournaments.
After running the table and taking down a team from Vancouver in the first tournament final, Orobko and his talented girl's squad took down a group of competitors from California with another perfect run at the "Finale".

Team Sask used the momentum from their tournament win on Thursday to explode for a 66-21 win in Friday's opener against LA Select 15U.
Later that day another good game saw Saskatchewan winning easily 49-21, as Friday's wins put Saskatchewan into a playoff round game against Luvd Ones on Saturday, the prairie ballers taking another big win 61-22 to advance to Sunday's finals.
The final game against Whittier, California's Lady Bulldogs team was their toughest challenge of the week. Strong offense and defense prevailed, however, to the tune of a 51-38 score to win their second title of the week.

The Vegas tournaments were the culmination of months of effort for Orobko, his fellow coaches Keira Dyck and Jaden Cook, and of course his dedicated players.
Double gold is nice, but the group will be looking to make it three championships in August during Nationals in Ontario.
