Carnduff RCMP have made an arrest as an individual was reportedly threatening another person earlier this month.
On July 14, at around 9:20 p.m., Carnduff RCMP received a report that a male was in possession of a firearm at a hotel in Carnduff.
Upon investigating, they found that an adult male had threatened an individual and was in possession of a handgun. The individual who was threatened did not report any physical injuries to the police.
Officers obtained a search warrant, entered a hotel room, and arrested the male while seizing a handgun.
28-year-old Taylor Starchief from North Battleford has been charged with:
- two counts, insecure/unsafe storage of a firearm,
- one count, possession of a handgun knowing he was not the holder of a licence,
- one count, possession of a magazine knowing he was not the holder of a license,
- one count, unlawfully removing a serial number on a firearm,
- two counts, possess a firearm/prohibited device while prohibited,
- four counts, fail to comply with a release order,
- one count, assault,
- one count, uttering threats,
- one count, unauthorized possession of a firearm,
- one count, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized,
- one count, overcoming resistance to the commission of an offence.
Taylor Starchief appeared in Weyburn Provincial Court on July 17.
