The Rockyford Rodeo kicks off this weekend.

Starting on Friday (July 25), the event will run for most of the weekend, bringing a variety of events to the hamlet.

Here's a schedule of all the activities that the rodeo has to offer.

Friday

  • 10 a.m. - Slack begins.
  • 5 p.m. - Food booth and beer gardens open.
  • 6 p.m. - Local events (mutton busting, wild pony races, wild horse races).
  • 7 p.m. - Rodeo (novice saddle, saddle bronc, tie down, wild horse race, breakaway, bareback, steer wrestling, ladies barrels, junior steer, team roping bulls).

Saturday

  • 7 a.m. - Free pancake breakfast.
  • 10 a.m. - Parade with candy.
  • 11 a.m. - Farmers craft market, kids duck hunt, Barnies Adventure Park, disc golf.
  • 12 p.m. - Beer gardens, food booth, Callum's Cotton Candy.
  • 12:30 p.m. - Rodeo (novice saddle, saddle bronc, tie down, breakaway, bareback, steer wrestling, ladies barrels, junior steer, team roping bulls, wild horse race, wild pony race, and mutton busting
  • 5:30 p.m. - BBQ beef supper.
  • 7:00 p.m. - Outdoor jamboree live band and beer gardens.

Admission costs $20 for teenagers and $30 for adults on Friday, with the tickets costing $10 more on Saturday. Children 12 years old and under are admitted free of charge.

Cash is required for some vendors, with an ATM located at the local hockey arena.
