Country Classics Car Club partnered with the Mennonite Heritage Village this weekend to host an amazing Show N’ Shine.
President of Country Classics Car Club, Mario Silva, says organizing this event takes months of planning and a good team.
Volunteers helped with everything from raffles and draws to parking and organizing the tire change competition. Car club members were excited about the turnout and hope it continues to grow.
Mike Penner with the Country Classics Car Club says the club was looking for a park venue, and the MHV was the perfect location to put this on.
“I think we have a partnership here that could last many years.” says Penner, reflecting on their first year working together.

As the club continues to grow, Silva says the show n’ shine feels like a family event, but with the car community.
“It's like a little community of car people, and yeah, got a common bond, and tell stories. And then people that don't own cars, you know, tell their story.”
Penner agrees, saying, “You start bumping into some familiar faces at different car shows, and you meet their friends too. So, it’s a network.”
This network is being used for a good cause. They will be raising money for medical transportation at their upcoming yearly fundraiser, as well as holding 2 more car shows for seniors at the Pat Porter Center.
