Police are investigating a fatal hit and run that happened on Siksika Nation.

Gleichen RCMP responded to the crash at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday (July 26), where officers found two people dead and another in critical condition.

"Investigation thus far has determined that the five people were walking when they were hit by a vehicle," wrote RCMP in a news release. "The vehicle then fled the scene."

Police have confirmed the victims as a 27-year-old man and a 45-year-old man, both from Siksika Nation. The injured is a 45-year-old woman from Siksika Nation, and remains in critical condition.

"RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken carriage of the investigation," added RCMP.

Anyone with surveillance footage from theĀ 54 Map 3 Subdivision on Siksika Nation between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. are asked to contact Gleichen RCMP at 403-734-3923.
