Kathy Falk (nee Peters), age 68, of Gretna MB passed away with her family by her side on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora, ON.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Ken Falk, 2 sons Nathan (Cheryl) Falk, Daryl Falk, 2 grandsons Carter and Landon Falk, 2 brothers Jake (Clara) Peters, Dave (Marilyn) Peters, sister Ruth Peters along with their families, extended families, and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents Peter W.J. & Nettie Peters and her sister Lydia.
Kathy was born on November 15, 1956 at the Bethel Hospital in Winkler, MB, raised in the village of Reinland, MB, and was baptized upon the confession of her faith in the Reinland Sommerfeld Church. She met her husband Ken in the summer of 1972 and married on September 5, 1976. They first lived in Altona, MB before moving to their rural home near Gretna, MB.
Kathy was always good with numbers and worked at a couple of local businesses in admin and payroll, before dedicating 20 plus years to Border Land School Division in their payroll department where she retired from this past year. She always cherished her coworkers and developed many meaningful friendships over the years. She leaves behind a good example of what hard work and dedication should look like.
Kathy had many interests including baking, gardening, canning every summer, she loved camping and fishing over the years with family and friends, traveling to the West and East Coasts of Canada with family and a trip to Mexico with close friends. She also enjoyed watching her grandsons play sports, and at a local arena will always be remembered for her shouts out of the stands "Hustle"! Though her retirement was short, she was able to start a new hobby like crocheting and spent more time reading in her pastime.
Kathy will always be remembered for her kind heart, and selflessness! She loved to serve, and be an ear for those who needed to talk. Though her time with us feels much too short, we thank God for the time we had and the example she left for us to follow. We will miss the loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend that she was, and wish that we had more time in her presence.
Our family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Lake Of The Woods District Hospital, and all of our family and friends for their thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. May God bless you.
