From trees to boats: your pets’ favourite summer spots

For our latest Country 107 Pet of the Day Contest, powered by our friends at LR Horse and Pet, we asked:
Cottage, camper, or backyard — where’s your pet’s summer hangout?

And wow — your pets did not disappoint. From beach bums to deck dwellers, these furry (and sometimes sun-soaked) companions are soaking up every last drop of summer.

Congratulations to our winner — Monty the Cat
Monty took the top spot (literally) with his favourite hangout: up in a tree. Brave, bold, and clearly in charge of his domain, Monty’s high-up perch stole our hearts — and earned him a prize pack from LR Horse and Pet.

Here are some of the submissions that had us smiling:

• Kiwi can be found in any sunny spot — if there’s warmth, Kiwi’s there.
• Paisley is a full-on lake life girl, living it up near the water.
• Iris had her very first trip to the camper this summer — and judging by the photos, she’s officially hooked.
• Whisky and Bella are all about deck life — lounging in the sun, side by side, just enjoying the breeze.
• Mango prefers the deck too, soaking up the rays in chill mode.
• Maggie headed straight for the beach — sandy paws, happy heart.
• Marloh is a camping pro — fresh air, new smells, and non-stop tail wags.
• Kahlea enjoyed Meteor Days in West Hawk, especially the outdoor bingo, even if she didn’t win.
• Another pet summed up summer perfectly: “If I’m not playing bingo, I’m outside playing ball.”
• Berkley lives for boat rides and sunny lake days.
• One simple entry nailed it: “Wherever the sun is.”
• For older pups, staying cool is key — “The best summer spot when you’re an older dog is hanging out in the cool house with your human besties.”
• Miss Bella knows boat days are better with sunshine and a giant bone.

These submissions remind us that no matter where you’re spending your summer — lake, yard, deck, or dog bed — it’s better with a pet by your side.
