If you're thinking of heading down to Morden Park with your kids, the City wants you to keep safety in mind when using the accessible play structure following a vandalism incident.

Shawn Dias, Director of Parks and Urban Forestry, explains a wrung on a ladder has been broken off.

"It's a piece that you can get some leverage on, so I think people just push down on it until it breaks. It's been welded a few times."

For now, the trouble spot has been blocked off with plywood and caution tape.

"We are aware of it and we are dealing with it," added Dias. "Just be careful when playing on it."

Without cameras set up in the park, Dias says it'd be difficult to track down who did the damage, and the incident wasn't reported to police. He noted, this isn't the first time that section of the play structure has been damaged.
