The final weekend of minor ball provincials around the province featured mainly 13U teams in action, but also four Baseball Saskatchewan tournaments for the 18U age group.

The Tier 3 tournament was held in Kindersley with eight teams in action, the host Kindersley Royals headlining one pool and the Unity Cardinals in the other for local teams in action.

The Cardinals played the first game of the tournament on Flanagan Field and lost a 4-1 pitching duel to the Saskatoon Braves Pigeons.

Returning to the diamond Saturday morning at 9:00 AM, the Cardinals rebounded nicely with a 7-0 win against Meadow Lake and then beat the Saskatoon Blue Jay Slow Trains 18-8 to earn a spot in Sunday's semi-finals.

The host Royals didn't begin their tournament until 6:00 PM Friday night when they lost 15-4 to the East Central Red Sox.

After losing on Friday, the Royals fell just short in both games on Saturday as well

The Royals entered Saturday still searching for a win and came heartbreakingly close, twice. A big comeback effort against the Edam Blue Sox fell just short in a 16–15 loss at noon, officially ending their tournament hopes, and then later that night, the Royals dropped another close one 15–14 to the Saskatoon Blue Jays Bombers in their final game.

Saturday's game against Edam was a thriller, and not the only one on Saturday for Kindersley

Championship Sunday began at 10:00 AM with Unity up against the Saskatoon Blue Jay Bombers on Berard Field, while the Braves Pigeons played East Central.

The Cardinals fought to stay in it but were eventually undone into middle innings, losing the semi-final 13-3 by way of mercy.

The other game ended in a mercy as well 12-2, setting up an all-Saskatoon final where the Braves Pigeons defeated the Blue Jay Bombers.

The weather held up each day to help make for a great provincial tournament in the West Central community.
