The other local 18U team in action this weekend was the Wartime Marlins, who play in the senior Coteau Hills Baseball League. The Marlins were in Saltcoats for 18U AA Tier 4 provincials and came away as the top team, flexing their senior league mite.
After a convincing 13-2 win in their first game, the Marlins lost a high-scoring affair 15-13 their second time out. A 9-8 win in their final round robin game gave Wartime a spot in Sunday's semi-finals where they won 5-1, advancing to the finals against Melfort where the bats exploded for a 17-2 final.
