The Strathmore Stampede is right around the corner.
Here is everything you need to know about events going on for the Strathmore Stampede this year:
Friday, Aug. 1.
The grounds open at 11 a.m., kicking off with a western market and several beer gardens.
The rodeo and RCMP musical ride begins at 1 p.m., followed by mutton bustin' at 5 p.m. and chuckwagon races at 5:30.
Throughout the grounds and CGC Heritage Towne, there will be other activities and events, including:
- Alberta Horse Shoe Association
- Zorb ball collision track
- Dunk tank
- Off-road RC race track
- Carnival games
- Petting zoo
- Farm maze
- Pony rides
- Running with the rams
- Meet and greet with RCMP horses
- Iron Clover Forge blacksmith
There will also be several events at the Heritage Arena, including stock dock demos, the RCMP musical ride warm-up, the Calgary Stampede show riders, and Piper Yule doing trick rides.
There will also be musical performances such as the emerging artist showcase, Hayley Isabel and band, and Craig Silver band, leading up to the Friday Night Round-up Concert with Tyler Joe Miller.
Saturday, Aug. 2.
Before opening, there will be the Strathmore Stampede Parade running through the town's downtown core.
The grounds open up again at 11 a.m. with more markets, beer gardens, and many of the same activities as Friday.
The Heritage Arena will have its stock dog trials, and more performances from the RCMP, Calgary Stampede Showriders, and Piper Yule.
There will also be another RCMP musical ride, Running with the Bulls, mutton bustin', and chuckwagon races, along with more rodeo events.
The Main Stage will feature more of the emerging artists showcase, ending with a performance from The Calverts and a Lip Sync Battle between 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
As for evening events, the Domino's Cowboy Cabaret takes place at the Strathmore Family Centre at 8:30 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 3
Opening up once more at 11 a.m., the Stampede kicks off with the same markets and activities as the last two days.
As for something new, there will be performances from the Amber Williams Band and Redneck Rockstars, along with announcing the winner of the emerging artist showcase.
There will be RCMP and Calgary Stampede Showriders entertainment at the Heritage Arena, along with Piper Yule and stock dog trials.
Also returning for Sunday is mutton bustin', chuckwagon races, rodeo events, and the Running with the Bulls.
Ending off the night is the Real Canadian Wrestling Stampede Smackdown and cabaret at 8:30, finishing up with fireworks at 11 p.m.
Monday, Aug. 4.
At 11 a.m., the final day of the Strathmore Stampede begins with many of the same activities and bars, including chuckwagon races and rodeo events.
There will also be one final performance from the Calgary Stampede Showriders at 2 p.m.
The Ag Grounds close at 11 p.m. every day but Monday, when the grounds close at 6 p.m.
