Momma Midnight, a rescue cat from Wilkie, Sask., is hoping to find a loving home after raising her litter in safety at KC Rescue.
Midnight was found with her kittens just in time to ensure the family had a secure place to stay. Staff at KC Rescue say she was timid at first, adjusting to a new environment while caring for her first litter.
Now, she proudly shows off her kittens and has become very affectionate with people.
Despite her sweet personality, Midnight’s chances of being adopted are lower than most because of the stigma around black cats. Her kittens are more likely to find homes, with two already having adoptions pending.
Staff say Midnight would do well in a home on her own or with her kittens. She may also adjust to living with other cats if given time and patience for introductions.
KC Rescue does not currently host summer Saturday open houses but offers private meet-and-greet appointments for potential adopters. Applications can be filled out in advance, and the rescue asks for 24 to 48 hours’ notice to arrange a visit.
More information about available cats and the adoption process is available at KC Rescue’s website.
