Doug Steele has continued to work towards a solution on issues at Sask Landing.

The Cypress Hills MLA was able to visit the provincial park with Minister of Parks, MLA Alana Ross. Together, they were able to observe the issues firsthand and begin planning solutions.

"We put our heads together, and there are some plans that are coming down the pipeline shortly," said Steele.

One of the solutions to an issue regarding parking boats on beaches at the park is the designation of parking areas on the waterfront. Another is an update and a refreshing of the walking path.

"We're hoping to get things rolling this fall right away," said Steele. "And to have it up and working for the spring."

Steele detailed that the stone house on the south side of the Landing is also being looked at for a potential revival.

Steele wants to keep the community that cared enough to reach out to him about the issues at the landing involved in the revival process.

"The community of the Landing and the cabin owners and business owners are putting together a committee," announced Steele. "I'll be a part of that, and we'll be putting together a five-year plan on how we want to move forward to get our old Sask Landing back to pristine condition."
