The Saskatoon Berries won a pair of home games against the Medicine Hat Mavericks this past weekend, Saturday's 14-10 win officially putting the Berries in the Western Canadian Baseball League record books with the most regular season wins all time, Sunday's win putting an end to the regular season with playoffs set to begin on Wednesday.

The Berries are entering the postseason hot, their only two losses since the July 19 All Star Game coming back-to-back against the Regina Red Sox on August 1 and 2. In that stretch the Berries are 12-2 with 121 runs scored to their opponents 55.

The East Division playoffs see the 46-9 Berries taking on the 27-29 Moose Jaw Miller Express in the first round, while 34-21 Medicine Hat plays host to 29-27 Regina. In the West the Okotoks Dawgs finished first at 40-16 and will play the 22-34 Brooks Bombers, the 36-20 Sylvan Lake Gulls taking on the 33-22 Lethbridge Bulls in the other series.

Each playoff series, all the way through the finals, is a Best-of-3.
