RCMP in Kindersley are asking the public for help identifying a suspect who spray-painted security cameras at a local business Tuesday night in what officers are calling a deliberate attempt to disguise their identity.
In a recorded statement, Staff Sgt Andrews said the incident happened between 9 and 9:30 p.m. at the NAPA Auto Parts location on 12th Avenue.
According to police, someone driving a grey pickup truck approached the business and used orange spray paint loaded into a water gun to obscure the cameras.
“This appears to have been a targeted act meant to hide the individual from being seen,” said Andrews, noting that more details on the vehicle’s make and model will be released once additional footage is reviewed.
RCMP say other businesses or residents who may have experienced similar vandalism or noticed orange spray paint should contact police. Officers are also investigating whether a break-and-enter occurred elsewhere in town around the same time.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kindersley RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers.
