It was a "lights out" week in Minnesota for Macklin native, and Calgary Flames first round pick Cole Reschny.

Reschny was one of 44 players invited to the showcase as part of Team Canada's list of hopefuls for the 2025-26 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship, and it's hard to argue Reschny wasn't the headliner at the annual summer showcase after he led Team Canada in points.

The University of North Dakota commit registered one goal and four assists for just Team Canada and had another goal and two assists in two split squad games.

After Canada's loss to Sweden in which Reschny scored a nice shortside goal, his Canada teammates and coach Dale Hunter had nothing but positive reviews. In the TSN segment linked above, Reschny talked about being appreciative of the support, and shared comments of his own about the prospects of making Team Canada.

Team Canada finished middle of the pack at the showcase with a 1-2 record. Split squad action saw Team White beat Team Red. Team USA was also a split squad though the main Team USA finished 0-3, and playing as one squad the whole time, Sweden and Finland tied for first at 4-1.
