Unity RCMP responded to a wide range of calls between July 29 and August 4, including family disputes, a fraud investigation and a court-ordered arrest.

One individual was arrested after police responded to a complaint of disturbing the peace and determined the person had breached a court order. The subject was transported to North Battleford to be held for court.

In a separate disturbance case, RCMP located a person in distress and transported them to Unity Health Centre for assessment.

Police also mediated a family dispute and responded to a sudden death involving an 81-year-old woman from Unity. The death is not considered suspicious.

A theft complaint was determined to be unfounded, while a separate fraud file remains under investigation. Officers also responded to a trespassing report and issued a verbal warning to the subject.

Traffic enforcement resulted in a 60-day roadside suspension during a stop. CN Police reported two railway malfunctions — one in Unity and another in nearby Scott. Both incidents were documented for information purposes.

Other calls included a report of uttering threats, which was deemed unfounded, and five traffic complaints.

Unity RCMP are reminding residents that certain non-urgent crimes, including fraud under $5,000, property damage, and lost or stolen items, can now be reported online at ocre-sielc.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/saskatchewan.
