Residents are running for mental health this weekend.
On Sunday (Aug. 10), Strathmore's True North Society will be working alongside Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) to bring Stomping Down Barriers for Mental Health to town.
There are several different runs to choose from, including 5km, 10km, half marathon, virtual 10km, and a virtual half marathon.
The race will start and finish at the Strathmore Motor Products Sports Centre. The run takes place at the following times:
- 5 km: August 10 at 8:45 a.m.
- 10 km: August 10 at 8:30 a.m.
- 21.1 km: August 10 at 7:30 a.m.
- Virtual 5 km: Anytime up until August 10 at 8:45 a.m.
- Virtual 10 km: Anytime up until August 10 at 8:30 a.m.
- Virtual 21.1 km: Anytime up until August 10 at 7:30 a.m.
"A portion of your registration will be donated to support True North’s emergency domestic violence shelter and supportive programs," wrote the society on social media. "Your participation makes a difference."
