The Tampa Bay Rays recalled 25-year-old outfielder Tristan Peters from triple-A Durham, Peters will join the Rays for their west coach swing, starting in Seattle.
Drafted out of Southern Illinois University Carbondale in the seventh round by Milwaukee in 2021, Peters has starred at triple-A this season. The six-foot outfielder owns a .282/.370/.453 slash line, 11 home runs and 11 stolen bases through 105 games for the Bulls.
In addition to excelling at the plate, Peters has consistently made highlight-reel grabs in centre field with Durham. Meanwhile, the left-handed hitter also brings some extra versatility, having spent time at all three outfield spots in 2025.
If Peters gets into a game, it will be his major league debut, and he will be the 20th Canadian to play in a big league game in 2025.
Tampa Bay at Seattle starts tonight at 8:40 p.m. local time.
