An adult male from Roseau River First Nation was arrested for assault, and later released on court-imposed conditions, after Manitoba First Nations Police responded to a call in the community.

On August 2nd, police responded to a report of an adult male providing youth with alcohol at a party at his home. Officers were met by a crowd of people at the residence, causing what was described in a news release as a "large disturbance'.

Police attempted to speak to the male homeowner, but he produced a knife and advanced toward them. After being told numerous times to drop the knife and not complying, police deployed a Conductive Energy Weapon on the male who was then taken into custody.

The man will be appearing in court at a later date.
