Fans at a Jonas Brothers concert in New Jersey earlier this week got an unforgettable surprise when Christian rock band Switchfoot joined the pop trio on stage for a live performance of their hit "Meant To Live."
The moment was more than just a special guest appearance; it was a full-circle celebration of musical inspiration that spans nearly two decades.
A song that started it all
In a TikTok video shared by Switchfoot, the band wrote, "Such an honour to have been a part of the @Jonas Brothers musical journey, (and their new album!). Playing 'Meant To Live' with the boys in front of 50,000 people is a moment we'll be reliving for a while."
The video shows Nick Jonas speaking to the crowd between songs, recalling their early days growing up in New Jersey. He shared how their father's love for classic pop acts like the Bee Gees, Stevie Wonder, and The Beatles influenced their upbringing.
Nick explained that his journey with brothers Kevin and Joe truly began when he heard them playing "24" by Switchfoot. The song, from the band's 2003 album The Beautiful Letdown, left a deep impact.
"It was so inspiring, it changed our lives, truly," Nick said. "The first song we ever wrote together was because this band made this album."
Moments later, Joe Jonas introduced Switchfoot to the stage, and together, the two bands powered through "Meant To Live" in front of a roaring stadium crowd.

Collaboration on new album
The Jonas Brothers' latest album, Greetings From Your Hometown, holds even more significance in their connection with Switchfoot.
Nick told fans the record was "a summary of our journey as family and as a band, both musically and our roots here in New Jersey." As the album came together, Joe suggested inviting Switchfoot to collaborate.
Not only did the band agree, but they also co-wrote the album's title track.
