Kindersley issues warning after badger sightings in town

Officials in Kindersley are warning residents to be on alert after badgers were spotted in and around the community.

In a public advisory posted to the town’s Facebook page, officials urged people to watch their pets, avoid leaving garbage or food outdoors, and use motion-sensor lights to deter wildlife.

“DO NOT approach or corner a badger!! If startled or feeling threatened, they may become aggressive,” the notice read.

The town says it will be consulting with the provincial Conservation Office and will provide updates as the situation develops.

Badgers are known for their powerful claws and can pose a threat if they feel threatened or trapped.
