A 6th place finish for Kyle's AJ De Necker and Team Saskatchewan in Rugby Sevens at the Canada Summer Games in Newfoundland.

Saskatchewan lost 35-12 in the 5th place game to Nova Scotia last night. They finished the tournament with two wins in seven matches.

Women's softball is on this week as Rosetown's Hailey Burton and Team Saskatchewan are playing the 7vs8 game against PEI this morning. Beach volleyball is also active, Team Saskatchewan led by Kyle's Brittany Marshall as they finished the prelims 1-2.

Men's softball starts next week with Delisle's Jordan Durham on the team. Athletics also starts next week featuring Eryn Kielo from Delisle in the 3000m Steeplechase, same with wrestling featuring Wilkie'sĀ Avi'endha Beaugrand. Court volleyball also starts for the male and female teams next week, Lucky Lake's Kash Meyers on the male team.

Four southwest swimmers will be back in the pool today for the men's and women's Special Olympics 50 meter freestyle. Gull Lake's Chayce Foster, Swift Current's Tate Zimmerman, Avery Underhill, and Rahimay Priebe will finish their Summer Games with their final races today.

Sticking around the region, in male baseball Team Saskatchewan qualified for the semifinal. They will play Quebec tomorrow; a team they have already beaten twice as they have another crack at them to secure a guaranteed medal.
