  • Rosser

  • Headingley

  • St. François Xavier

  • Cartier

  • Macdonald

  • Ritchot

  • Taché

  • Springfield

  • East St. Paul

  • West St. Paul

🌫️ Temporary Province-Wide Ban

Due to poor ventilation conditions, crop residue burning is NOT authorized—except by permit—in all municipalities and zones across Manitoba from:

  • Monday, August 18, 2025 through

  • Wednesday, August 20, 2025

To apply for a burning permit, contact:

Permits are required for burning in designated “Burning Permit Areas.” For burning within the City of Winnipeg, permits must be obtained from the City of Winnipeg. Please consult your local RM office for additional restrictions.

🌙 Year-Round Nighttime Ban

Nighttime burning of crop residues is prohibited year-round.

✅ Safe Burning Practices

If burning is permitted, the following safety measures must be followed:

  • Adequate fire-guarding

  • Proper supervision

  • No smoke obscuring public roadways

  • No smoke causing issues for neighboring residents
