Unity RCMP dealt with a range of incidents between Aug. 12 and Aug. 18, including reports of vehicle damage, theft, and trespassing.

Police attended a complaint of a vehicle being damaged, which remains under investigation, and responded to a reported theft, although there was insufficient evidence to proceed. RCMP also handled two complaints of trespassing in rural areas; one subject was located after running out of fuel and was assisted by a local resident.

Other calls included a disturbing the peace complaint, an assault where the complainant declined to pursue charges, and reports of fuel theft and a train colliding with a cow. Seven traffic complaints and a false alarm were also recorded.

The Unity RCMP reminded residents that online crime reporting is available for certain non-violent incidents, including fraud, vandalism, lost or stolen property under $5,000, and traffic complaints, allowing residents to report crimes conveniently.

Residents with information about crimes can contact Unity RCMP at (306) 228-6300 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
